Date: Thursday 19th January 2017
- Sarah McDonagh - Saxophone and Flute
- Simon Latarche – Piano
- James Rintoul – Bass
- Keith Marshall - Drums
An associate of the Royal College of Music, Simon has been involved in promoting music throughout Devon and Cornwall as both an educator and performer for the past twenty years.
Equally at home in all music genres, Simon’s first love is Jazz.
As a soloist or leader of various ensembles, he has performed at a number of Jazz festivals and venues across the South West. Tonight, the Quartet will be playing a selection of well-known standards and some originals too.
“Over the past twenty five years I have developed a great love of the county of Cornwall and Jazz music in many forms, either as a soloist or part of an ensemble. Hopefully this recording will provide you with new memories of both these things.”
"Cornish Preludes is a terrific collection from the Simon Latarche Jazz Ensemble. Latarche's compositions are a near perfect combination of lyricism and improvisation and the ensemble provides finely knit support to Latarche's considerable talents as a pianist."
